Update : cyber attack

Dear all,

Our IT service provider ITxx was victim to a ransomware attack carried out by Russian cybercriminals on July 2, 2021.  This hacker group has encrypted a significant number of servers, including Engibex’ data.

Immediately after the hacking, ITxx and Engibex reported to the Federal Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) and to the data protection authority.  Furthermore, a company specialized in cybersecurity (Secutec BV) and a company with expertise in data recovery (KLDiscovery Ontrack BV) were appointed to support us on the matter.  The ransomware attack prevented us from accessing our data and severely disrupting the operation of our back office. Despite the encryption of specific data relating to performance, contracts and payroll processing, our staff managed to secure all major services. Preliminary investigation results by Secutec indicates that no company, customer or employee data was leaked. The negotiations directed by Geert Baudewijns (Secutec BV) resulted in a full recovery of all our data since July 9, 2021.

We are in full restart with our data in a new, secure environment. In the course of the week all our services will be operational again in the same way as our customers and employees are used to.
